An insulation-displacement contact (IPC), also known as an insulation-displacement connector (IDC), is an electrical connector designed to connect to the conductors/wires of an insulated cable by forcing a sharpened blade or blades into the insulation.

Through insulation, it bypasses the need to strip the insulation from the conductors before making the connection. When done correctly, the connector blade theoretically provides a reliable, gas-tight connection by cold welding to the conductor.
