AD8232 Heart Rate Sensor - Arduino EKG Pulse
AD8232 is an integrated signal conditioning module for EKG and other bioelectric measurement applications. The device is designed to extract, amplify, and filter weak bioelectric signals that are corrupted by noise from motion or distant electrode placement. This design allows for easy acquisition of the output signal from an ultra-low power analog-to-digital converter (ADC) or an embedded microcontroller.
AD8232 uses a bipolar high-pass filter to eliminate motion artifacts and electrode half-cell potential. The filter is tightly coupled to the instrumentation amplifier structure for single-stage high gain and high-pass filtering, saving space and cost.
AD8232 employs an unrestricted op-amp to create a three-pole low-pass filter that eliminates extra noise. Users can meet the needs of different application types by selecting the cutoff frequency of all filters.
