This small-sized infrared obstacle detection sensor is suitable for use in many projects. You can quickly and easily connect it and add it to your project. It can be used with Arduino, Raspberry, and other MCU kits. The beams sent from the IR transmitter LED hit the obstacle and are detected through the receiver LED. Detection of distance is achieved with a comparator timer circuit. Sensitivity can be adjusted with the 2 potentiometers on the module. One is for adjusting the frequency of the IR transmitter LED, and the other is for adjusting the duty cycle.
It can detect distances between 2-40cm. It can operate with a supply voltage of DC 3V / 5V. It outputs logic 0 when an obstacle is detected and logic 1 when there is no obstacle.
